Finnish boats dominate in the International Six Metre Class European Championship
The European championship was held in Sanxenxo, Galicia, Spain.
Winds varied from light to medium /heavy with racing in the Atlantic Ocean and the Bay of Sanxenxo.
In the Open (Modern) division Henrik Andersin finished first overall in Oiva FIN 81. Racing was close, but in the end the Oiva team was 5 points ahead.
Oiva is designed by Allan Savolainen and built by the team at Red Sky Yachts.
In the Classic Division Astree III FIN 80, owned and helmed by Ossi Paija and crewed by a team of talented Finnish sailors finished second. Astree III was 1 point behind Bribon, the 6 Metre skippered by King Juan Carlos.
